History

The Wellesley Community Children’s Center (WCCC) was founded in 1971 by a group of Wellesley residents who saw the need for quality childcare. They set a tone for commitment, involvement, and concern for children that continues today. Our goal remains to provide the best possible programs for children and families.

WCCC is a private, non-profit corporation, operated by a Board of Directors, administrative staff, and professional teaching staff.

WCCC’s Early Childhood Program purpose-built building was constructed in 1989 as a result of collaboration among Babson College, Wellesley College, and WCCC.  As a result of this collaboration, 2/3 of available slots are offered to employees and full time students of the colleges and 1/3 to community members from Massachusetts towns.

WCCC’s After School Programs are open to children enrolled in the Wellesley Public Schools and are located in the schools and at the Fells Branch Library.
