KDay – the WCCC Kindergarten Program

Our KDay Program will use Teaching Strategies Gold to assess children’s development and plan informed curriculum. This program allows teachers to track each child’s development on a continuum in every developmental domain in an effort to meet each child’s individual needs. Furthermore, Teaching Strategies Gold Creative Curriculum for Kindergarten is aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Social Emotional Development and Approaches to Play and Learning.

  • Full-day, in-person program from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., or stay until 5 p.m. for KPlay
  • EEC Licensed
  • Small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios

Meet the Teachers

Kayla Powers

Hello! My name is Kayla Powers. I have spent the last three years teaching Pre-Kindergarten with WCCC. I have teaching experience in the toddler years through first grade, but very much enjoy Kindergarten. It is so much fun to explore the foundational skills of education while still honing our social and emotional skills. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach Kindergarten with WCCC and look forward to getting to know you and your family!

I earned a dual bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology with Keene State College in 2017. I also have a masters in Family and Human Development, which I obtained online through Arizona State University. I am currently working towards a M.Ed focusing on Inclusive Education with Lesley University.

Hello! My name is Julia MacPherson and I have been with WCCC for the past year and a half as a Pre-K teacher. I have a passion for teaching kindergarten and have had many experiences in grades PK-4 throughout my schooling. I am excited to share my love of learning and get to know you and your family as we begin the school year!

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Marywood University. I completed my student teaching in a first-grade classroom in PA and I have studied in a Montessori Kindergarten program. I hope to bring what I have learned in these experiences into the classroom.
